Making $$$ = Education Part 11

In this installment of Making $$$ = Education, we're going to go over another way to increase the chances of making sales from your site once you get people there.

Already on your site you should have some decent content in the form of articles. You should also have a link exchange going in order to get visitors from other relevant sites that aren't in direct competition with you. But there's still more you can do.

One of the best ways to build trust between yourself and prospective buyers is to offer them something of value for free. The best way to do this is by having a sign up box on your site for a newsletter series.

Let's say you have a site that sells special cookware. Maybe you can have a newsletter series of recipes. Maybe send out a few recipes in each letter of the series. You can run the series itself for maybe 10 to 15 issues. It normally will take about 10 issues before you've built up enough trust to make the sale. In the recipes maybe you can finish by saying how much better these dishes taste when cooked in these special pots. Always try to work your product into the series without making it sound like you're trying to sell them something. This is not an easy thing to do and you're always walking a thin tightrope but with some practice and guidance you can do it.

Another example would be if you were selling collectible baseball cards. You might want to create a series of biographies of past baseball players for people to read. Maybe include bios that aren't as easy to find. Famous players like Ruth and Mays are easy. But there are many old time players who weren't as famous that might be interesting reading for your subscribers. Yes, this will require some work on your part but by presenting an interesting bio and then by letting them know that you just happen to have this card in stock and no telling how long it will last, you just might sell that thing faster than you can imagine.

The important thing is to make the newsletter series something that when people read it they say to themselves, "boy, that took a lot of work and I got it for nothing. That's so rare these days." Trust me, you will have made a friend and potential customer for life.

That's it for this series. Sure, there's more education to be had but you have the basics. Future articles will be covering a number of topics. Some educational. Some just amusing.

See you next time.

Sincerely,
