Let's face it. Most of our life, at least when we're home alone relaxing, revolves around being entertained. We watch TV, listen to the radio, go to movies and plays, listen to CDs, watch videos and DVDs and the list of things we do goes on and on. Entertainment has even branched off to our computers with video games, the Internet, streaming video and a host of other things. We can't wait to get home from work and entertain ourselves in some way. Anything to forget about our jobs that we hate so much. So it's no surprise that we spend billions of dollars a year on the entertainment industry. So, the question is, how can this fact help you to increase your sales when you're selling web hosting or an acne cure product? Hard to fit entertainment in with products and services like these. Yet, it can be done.
One of the big things on the Internet today when it comes to selling is giving away freebies with whatever product or service is being sold. For example. One company, who just happens to sell acne cure products, gives away books with those products. These books range from bodybuilding to weight loss. Now, while these books aren't considered entertainment per say, there is no reason that you couldn't give away something with your product or service that does fall within the line of entertainment. While there will be some legal issues involved with giving away CDs of copyrighted material, there are things that can be given away that don't require getting around a lot of red tape and lawyers. One way is to create your own entertainment product and give it away. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just something that people would enjoy having.
Creating an entertainment based ebook shouldn't take you more than a month out of your time. You could make it anything from a joke book (get some good writers if you can't do it yourself) or a book of short stories. Maybe a mini novel. You don't have to be a Hemmingway or anything like that. If you're a decent enough writer, you shouldn't have too much trouble coming up with something. Maybe you can go into a JV with an entertainment site. For access to some of the site's features you could give them a percentage of all your sales. This might even give them incentive to help product your product or service for you.
Yes, it's going to take some imagination. For those of you with a product or service that fits in with the entertainment industry, your battle is more than half won. Basically it comes down to identifying your target market and you're home free. People like to be entertained. If you can capitalize on that desire, you'll have a product or service that should be a big seller for you.
